Spring has sprung here in the Bay Area, and that means Children’s Fairyland has a lineup of fun for June—and not just for kids! All events take place at Children’s Fairyland, 699 Bellevue Avenue in Oakland.

Every Day
At 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., the Storybook Puppet Theater will be showing The Elves and the Shoemaker. Even those who are already familiar with the classic Grimm story will enjoy Fairyland’s additional casting choices.

Thursday, June 6
Fairyland is closed for its usual capers, and then open to adults only! The 18th Annual Gala Dinner, entitled, “There’s No Place Like Fairyland,” invites guests to “Don your most whimsical costumes, meet friends old and new, and stroll (or dance) through our storybook sets under the light of the stars … With fairies, pirates, and hares (oh, my!), this is sure to be one of the most colorful parties of the year. Don’t miss it!” All proceeds of course benefit the park.

Saturday, June 15
Another exciting annual event in June is Presentation Day! At 12:30 p.m., “Meet this year’s Children’s Fairyland Personalities at an inaugural ceremony and costume premiere!”

Every Saturday and Sunday
Fairyland offers arts and crafts from 12 to 2 p.m., and the ever-popular Animal of the Day from 1 to 1:20 p.m.

Most weekends also feature special guest performers! Shows are Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m.

June 8 and 9
“World Premiere” features Owen Baker Flynn, juggling, fire eating and “a multitude of surprises.”

June 15 and 16
Goofball, “the Bay Area’s funniest, silliest, and wackiest magician,” exhorts visitors, “Prepare yourself for some bellyaching laughing. Who knows? You might even be the star of the show!”

June 22 and 23
“Fairyland favorite Blake Maxam, ‘The Wizard of Ahhhhs,’ astounds and amazes children of all ages with his magic show.”

June 29 and 30
Jacquelyn Lynaugh’s musical and storytelling portrayal of Mother Goose entertains children and adults alike.
