from Robert Prinz at East Bay Bicycle Coalition

Our non-profit organization’s new, City of Oakland-funded bicycle class series at Parks & Rec facilities starts on Saturday, January 11th, from 10am to noon at DeFremery park in West Oakland, and then continues monthly through the rest of the year at this and other park locations around the city (DeFremery, Tassafaronga, and Bushrod Parks).

These classes are all 2-hour, indoor workshops with no bike required to participate. Every class will be taught by one of our certified instructors, with a fun and interactive presentation appropriate for people at all levels of ability and experience. Topics covered include bicyclist rights and responsibilities, crash avoidance, biking at night, required equipment, avoiding theft, and more.

The January, February, and March classes for adults and teens are on our calendar right now at www.ebbc.org/education, so please feel free to share this info and help get the word out! Each attendee of these classes will receive a free reflective bike vest for participating (while supplies last).
