Berkeley Entrepreneurs Forum: The Pocket-Sized Platform Shift Featuring Michael Sippey, Former VP of Product at Twitter:

The consumer tech landscape has shifted dramatically over the past three years, from the desktop web to mobile apps. The Wild West of the open web has evolved into an connected set of platforms that are shaping how digital businesses are built. Entrepreneurs need to understand how the mobile ecosystem is evolving, and how platform players like Google, Apple, Amazon, Facebook and Twitter are shaping how you’ll develop, distribute, market and monetize your product. Michael Sippey, former Vice President of Product at Twitter, will give an overview of this pocket-sized platform shift, and what it means for today’s entrepreneurs.

Bring a database example to share with us, whether it’s a problem that you’d like us to all try to solve together, or a clever programming technique that you’d like to show us. If we have time left over, we’ll also spend some time keeping each other up to date on the latest trends and technologies in the Access world.

This group is for beginners, and focuses on WordPress.com, editing content, setting up your image galleries, and generally getting to know WordPress.

Civic Hack Night:

Our weekly civic hack sessions inside City Hall. Brigade members and others interested in civic hacking welcome. We provide space, wifi, great peeps, beverages and pizza.
