“The sunny side of the bay” has ignited as a hot spot for solar and other green innovations. In recognition of the economic and social value of nurturing these emerging technologies, the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce has dedicated 2014’s Economic Development Summit to energy and sustainability. Registration is open for the half-day summit, which is scheduled for 7:30 am on April 16th at the Oakland Convention Center’s Grand Ballroom.
Garrick Brown, Western Region Director of Research for Cassidy Turley, will kick off the event with a briefing on first quarter 2014 marketplace trends for green tech in the East Bay, forecasting real estate needs. Following a welcoming address and breakfast, keynote speaker Jon Wellinghoff will share insights gathered from his experience as past Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
From 10am to noon, summit guests will be privy to two illuminative panel discussions.
