This past week this video for Ensemble Mik Nawooj’s version of C.R.E.A.M. by Wu Tan Clan was featured in the Wall Street Journal. The version by the Oakland based hip hop orchestra is good. Really good.

Ghost Town Jenny released a new video for her song “Lights.” Both the song and video have been described as hauting, which is apt. The voice of the Kim Kylland which vacillates easily between power and tenderness are well matched with the video’s use of space and light.

Empty Moon spent part of this year touring his new album. Along the way he found time to make a video for his song “Dear Life,” which he recently released.

When I heard the latest track by IamSu! and featuring CJ and 1-O.A.K, “Next Season,” I played it a couple times… for about 20 minutes straight.

If you’re looking for a place to get holiday presents, support queer crafters, and the Bay Area Girls Rock Camp look no further. Check out the Magic Makers Art and Craft Fair at the Humanist Hall in Oakland.

Speaking of Holidays, you can support the wonderful, local music website The Bay Bridged by purchasing their holiday album featuring local musicians. It would make a great stocking stuffer for the music lover in your life (or just keep it for yourself).
