Manna Gallery is pleased to present “Tangible/Digital”, a collection of recent paintings and digital prints by artist Mark Lightfoot. This exhibition opens April 10 and continues until May 16. A reception for Mark will take place Saturday, April 18, when he will be available to meet gallery visitors.  Manna Gallery is located at 473 25th St., Oakland.  Hours are:  Fridays and Saturdays 12 to 5 pm, First Fridays 5 to 9 pm, Third Thursdays 6 to 8 pm and by appointment.

Lightfoot’s work this past year has been following two directions. He continues to develop paintings in acrylic and oil on paper and canvas that explore the energy implicit in natural forms and structures. As well, he has begun a series of digital works using Photoshop where the figure is the motif. In these digital prints, Mark explores some ideas about relationships.

Mark left a high school art teaching career in 2008 to work full time in his Oakland studio. He is also a co-owner of Manna Gallery and teaches a drawing class at Merritt College. He is looking forward to working with digital media in the future.
