On Nov. 5, 2009, local illustrator Chris Lane gave a talk about his new book Zombies: A Record of the Year of Infection, at Diesel Bookstore, Oakland, CA. OaklandLocal zombie reporter Amy Gahran videoed the event.

Highlights include:

• How Chris got many of his friends (more than a dozen of whom were at the event) to pose as zombie models
• Illustrative homages to George Romero's zombie classics Night of the Living Dead and Day of the Dead
• Special considerations for illustrating the undead (as opposed to the living or the dead)

• His aspirations to one day illustrate a children's book
