International Day of Climate Action

International Day of Climate Action

This Saturday is the International Day of Climate Change Action and eco activists around the world are hosting over 1500 actions in over 125 countries, calling for climate justice at the Copenhagen climate talks from Dec. 7-18.  Ambessa Contave, one half of Oakland hip hop/spoken word duo Fiyawata as well as a well known community organizer and green movement mobilizer, gives a shout in favor of climate change regulations.

There are events happening all around the bay (see the full list) with the masses converging at 1 Market St. on the Embarcadero in San Francisco at 3pm.  There'll be a spoken word read-out for climate justice, a huge human billboard, info tables, ways to take action on-site, as well a pedal-powered sound system to keep the beats going.

For more info on events and ways you can help go to the 350 website.
