Community Unites: A Laurel Street Fair Slideshow

Macarthur Boulevard between 35th and High St. filled with families
and community members sharing food, fun and music at the Laurel Street
Fair on Saturday, August 14th.

Fair goers
crowded the festival as soon as the sun poked through the clouds, on what
started out as a cold, dreary day. Once there, they enjoyed all that the Street
fair could offer. From state fair-style fried treats made by Roasted Corn
to fresh fruits and vegetables brought by Oakland food connection, everyone
could find a treat they liked.

a petting
zoo for kids, DJs and live music brought to the street by St. Valentines were
some of the entertainment options the fair had to offer.

The Laurel
Street Fair also provided a space for the community to meet and
organize. Tables set up by local community organizations along with city
council members Jean Quan and Rebecca Kaplan could also be found on the street.
