Discover Oakland's Food Businesses May 6 on the Oakland Waterfront Food Trail

Get up close and personal with Oakland’s newest and most loved breweries, coffee roasters and specialty food manufacturers this Thursday.

Explore the “Oakland Waterfront Food Trail,” with Oakland Food Policy Council member Margot Lederer Prado and various manufacturers.

The tour, organized by San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association, will start at 10 a.m. at Oakland City Hall (next to the 12th St. BART station) and end at 2:30 p.m.

According to the council, Oakland has outgrown its former function as a cannery to the Central Valley, and built on its long history of food production by becoming the heart of the Bay Area’s epicurean economy.

Tickets are $10 and include bus transportation between sites. Lunch can be bought for $8. The tour is limited to 25 people.
