Urban aggie advocates at Ferment Change invite you to support slow food heroes at City Slicker Farms, who bring fresh produce to West Oakland.

Imagine a swap meet where everything's fermented.

On Friday, May 14, guests of the Fermented Feast at Humanist Hall will share sourdough, sauerkraut, kaboucha, home brews and more than 100 additional varieties of fermented foods.

Not sure how to convert carbohydrates into something yummy? Check out the festival's six culinary workshops, and then enjoy your buffet plate while listening live to blue grass and DJs.

Bring your own dish to win a prize.

From 7 to 10 p.m., $10–30 sliding scale, 390 27th St., Oakland. For more information, write  info@fermentchange.org.
