On Tuesday, local residents, business owners, city officials and Oakland Local staff came out to the first News Café - hosted by Farley's East. 

The event, sponsored by Farley's, Tech Liminal and the Lake Merritt/Downtown Business District, featured speakers from Oakollectiv, Box Theater, Oaklandish the Sustainable Business AllianceOakland in the Black, Popuphood and the city of Oakland.

"I'm so glad I attended the event, I really hope you guys do it again in the future," one attendee said after the event. "I thought it was interesting to hear all these informed, powerful, intelligent people in the room, talking about Oakland issues."
