Yesterday, Oakland got its spooky on.

I'm admittedly new to Oakland. Where I've lived before (NJ, PA, and CO), I'm used to seeing some houses go all-out with Christmas decorations, but not so much for Halloween. Riding around with my friend George Kelly yesterday, we spotted a jewel of a Halloween house at the corner of Athol & Brooklyn in Oakland. It was a veritable "Where's Waldo" of ghoulish decor. The peeling paint on the building only amplified the effect. Well done!

Also, in the Temescal district, several merchants on Telegraph Ave welcomed trick-or-treaters. Local resident Pengrin posted to Flickr some Creative Commons-licensed photos taken at Bakesale Betty, Clausen's Thrift Shop, and other local landmarks.

And around midnight on Halloween night, George Kelly noticed that the line for the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Grand Lake Theater stretched around the corner.
