Bawdy Storytelling describes itself as “a monthly storytelling event in the Bay Area that features real people sharing their bona fide sexual exploits in 10 minutes or less.

"Storytellers are an eclectic mix of authors, poets, comedians and actors - along with a handful of real people just like you who have submitted their stories online and were chosen for their panache and sense of misadventure.”

On May 24, it's “Girl on Girl: Women getting Bawdy” at the Uptown Club, 1928 Telegraph Ave. in Oakland.

On June 21, Bawdy will hold a non-monogamy-themed storytelling event, also at the Uptown Club, and they are looking for polyamorous storytellers and stories to fill their roster (no euphemism intended). No previous storytelling experience is required, but here’s what is:

  • A brief synopsis of the story to (send via email)
  • The story must be told (not read) in 10 minutes or less, and it must be true
  • You must attend a rehearsal
  • You must have attended a previous Bawdy Storytelling event

Fortunately, along with Tuesday's event in Oakland, there’s another one - “Californication” - on June 4 in Los Angeles, and “Libertine!” on June 8 in San Francisco.

Bawdy got our attention recently when we listed its May 11 event, “Craig’sLust.” Holy Hookups, Batman!
