Nominations open for 2011 Bike Commuter of the Year

A Bicycle Built for Two

A Bicycle Built for Two

Do you know a champion bike commuter? Maybe they ride for their health, or to save money, or just to be outside. They might ride an expensive custom racing bike, or a cheap, but efficient, hand-me-down. Did they convince their employer to install bike lockers or parking? Do they ride rain or shine? Do they inspire you to ditch your car and your Clipper card for two wheels?

The East Bay Bicycle Coalition invites you to nominate a bicycle commuter you know for the 2011 Bike Commuter of the Year.

One winner will be selected per county. The Alameda and Contra Costa County winners will receive their award at the Bike Away From Work Party in Old Oakland on the evening of Bike to Work Day, which is May 12.

Nominate them today!

Nominations are open until April 14. It takes a few minutes to register on the site; and you're invited to write up to 200 words explaining why your nominee should be this year's winner.
