In Oakland, more than 150 people showed up for a work day at Laney College,  sponsored by The Ella Baker Center, Bay Localize, and Laney, College.  On Sunday, Sungevity also installed solar panels for Oakland's Green Youth Arts and Media Center.   The Oakland events were among over 400 work parties planned in California and 20 held in the Bay area. According to May Boeve, US Campaign Director, 350.org, the sheer number of events made "October 10  the most widespread day of rallies of the election season. "

Over 7,000 events were planned in 188 countries for this past Sunday's Global Work Party, a day of action coordinated by 350.org to push politicians to take action on climate change.
