Obama addresses Netroots Nation
During Nancy Perlosi's keynote speech at the Netroots Nation conference happening in Las Vegas this weekend, President Obama appeared via video to speak to the gathering. His message: "Over the last 18 months we have been working to dig out of the recession, but change hasn't come fast enough for many Americans...I hope you take a moment to reflect on what we have accomplished (cut to Rachel Maddow speech on good things that did happen in past 18 months).
Obama's big point: "We've begun to deliver on the change we promised" The items the President called out as on the docket included repeal of the military’s Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy, closing Guantanamo Bay, and the end of the Iraq combat mission.
