Come out and talk about local issues with Oakland Local staff, local leaders and your neighbors. 

Beginning this January, join the Oakland Local reporting team and local leaders at Farley's East for a monthly morning meet-up and discussion.

On Jan. 24, we'll be talking about Innovative solutions for retail growth in Oakland with a look at Q4 2011 projects including Popup Hood, Oakland Grown's gift Card, Oakland in the Black, Githinji Wa Mbire's art shop on 14th, Oakcollectiv, Oaklandish retail and others.

How does the News Cafe work?


Coffee, tea and pastries are served from  8 to 9 a.m., followed by a panel discussion from 9 to 10 a.m.

Admission is $4-$7 with drink and pastry included; sliding scale for folks who are out of work, students, etc.
