Students protest outside UC headquarters

Monday afternoon approximtely 100 students and activists gathered outside the University of California headquarters in downtown Oakland chanting, holding signs high and demanding a meeting with UC President Mark Yudof.

The sit in and action was the latest move by UC students and supporters angered over proposed fee hikes and recent layoffs throughout the UC system.

At approximately 2:30 students gathered outside the headquarters after holding a demonstration at Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse in support of students arrested during Friday's sit in on the UC Berkeley Campus.

Students Monday afternoon, after being told the President Yudoff was on vacation, met with top officials for close to 3 hours to discuss fee hikes and opening up the streams of communication between students, administrators and the public.

Channel 4 news?

I watched the channel 4 news at 4:30pm and they had footage of Thursdays protest, not yesterdays in Oakland.  That was one thing but they also said, seriously, that only 12 people were prtotesting and it was nothing?  Hmmm, whose side are they on?  Just thought I would voice my opinion.
