Sweet Sounds of Summer Return to Oakland in Free Lunchtime Concerts

Now that all the rain clouds have subsided, it's starting to look a lot more like summer in Oakland.

And, beginning today, the "sounds" of summer will resonate from the Oakland City Center, 500 12th St., as the 24th Annual Summer Sounds Concert Series gets underway with a diverse mix of music and performances from June 2 through August.

Seone Stylist will kick off the first of 13 free concerts with a tribute to music legend Michael Jackson. All the concerts are open to the public, will run from noon to 1 p.m. and take place every Wednesday.

Future concerts will feature different genres of music including Latin, R&B/Hip Hop, Zydeco, Salsa, Soul, 90s Pop and Cuban, to name a few.

The concerts offer a great lunchtime experience to behold while grabbing a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants and cafes downtown.
