• In city government meetings, we have the Oakland City Council Rules and Legislation Committee Meeting (at 10:45 a.m.) and one of the most alarming sequels you'll ever see, City Council Budget Hearing II (at 5:30 p.m.).
• In city-related meetings, there's a general theme of improvement, with the Oakland Food Policy Council Meeting (from 5 to 7:30 p.m.) and the Neighborhood Watch City Meeting (from 7 to 8 p.m.). Sorry, burglars, we're pretty sure that somebody will still be watching the neighborhood.
• Meetings not your thing on a spring day? No worries, we've got you covered there, too. At 5:30 p.m., Jack London Square's SoundWaves presents the Ben Oni Orchestra for some swingin' big band music, followed by Full Court Jazz Quartet at the 57th Street Gallery's Thursday Evening Jazz (from 8 to 11 p.m.).
