Jazz legend, Bobby Hutcherson will celebrate his 70th birthday on Thursday, January 27, 2011 and the party is at Yoshi's in Jack London. Here is what you will see -- McCoy Tyner says, "Bobby is one of the greatest musicians in the world." Bobby Hutcherson is a jazz vibraphone and marimba player whose unique style is a mix of Milt Jackson with a touch of the late great, Lionel Hampton thrown in for good measure. His modern sound has made him one of the most advanced masters of the instrument. In 2010 he received a Lifetime Jazz Master Fellowship Award from the National Endowment for the Arts, which is one the highest honors given in the world of jazz. The Bobby Hutcherson Quartet features Bobby Hutcherson on vibes, Joe Gillman on piano, Glenn Richman on bass, Eddie Marshall on drums with special guest, jazz guitarist, Anthony Wilson.
