Zombie biker
Zombies are known to shuffle, stagger and crawl - but now, they bike too!
On Friday, Oct. 8, join bicyclist and zombie fans from Oakland and elsewhere for this month's East Bay Bicycle Party ZOMBIE RIDE!
This is a nighttime event, so be sure to bring your bike lights. Also, come decked out in your zombie finery - or zombie-fighting finery. Here are the gory details ...
The ride is free, but EBBP is requesting a $1 or more donation. You can donate at the event or support EBBP with a Paypal donation.
Meet at 7:30 p.m. at Frank Ogawa Plaza, 14th and Broadway in downtown Oakland (close to the 12th St. BART). Just look for the bikes and zombies or listen for the shrieks.
The ride departs Frank Ogawa Plaza at 8 p.m. sharp. The horde will ride south to Jack London Square, then head out to the Port of Oakland (and back), then up through Chinatown, Old Oakland, Uptown and out to Lake Merritt before stopping at the Parkway Lounge for a "bite" (pizza sandwiches, cash only).
There will be no snacking on non-consenting pedestrians or other bystanders. Watch out for attacking plants.
The organizers strongly recommend that you bring your helmet. "On that night, more than ever, you'll need to protect your BRRRRAAAAAINS!!!"
This is the sixth East Bay Bicycle Party and each month gathering has drawn a larger crowd. If you'd like to volunteer to help run this event, e-mail ebbikeparty@gmail.com.
EBBP is "a mobile party for riders of all ages, experience levels, and bike types, to meet, ride and play together in the streets on the second Friday of the month."
You can join EBBP's Facebook page or e-mail list to find out about upcoming events.
