Music Monday Track: Kev Choice-The Roundtree

Funky. It's a bit overused but it really is the perfect way to describe this track. A low slung, jazz, head nodding kind of funky, with Kev Choice's nimble piano dancing all over it. It could slide into a Madlib mix just as easily as a 70's soul soundtrack. You can almost see a Shaft era Richard Roundtree slipping into a brown leather trench, popping the collar and hitting the town to this cut.  It's been on repeat all morning.

The song is a part of Kev's new Daily Dosage Series.  From now until the end of the year, he'll be releasing a song a day for free on his website.  The tracks range from mellow weekend tunes like this to full on bangers like his recent love letter to the Bay Bridge.  Dropping a tune a day for the next two months is going to be challenging, but if he can keep up this kind of quality, Oakland can look forward to two months of sublime sounds.
