The past Saturday the good people over at Hyphen Magazine held their 4th annual Mr. Hyphen competition in downtown Oakland. Over the course of the evening the contestants strutted their stuff through all the usual fashion show competitions with a few twists.
At the end of the night, Pahole Sookkasikon took home the crown and $1,000 for his chosen nonprofits, the Thai-American Scholarship Fund and the Asian American Donor Program.
While the audience might have been there to ogle the onstage beefcake, the 6 man sexy battle was twofold: to showcase and celebrate the new face for Asian American masculinity and to raise funds for important social justice issues and inspire attendees to get active in their communities.
