Michael Jackson Dance Tribute at Youth Uprising

Michael Jackson Dance Tribute at Youth Uprising

While Michael Jackson's new documentary was getting all kinds of box office buzz a couple of weeks ago, Oakland's youth were paying their final respects to the King of Pop with their own fancy footwork.

From back in the pop locking and boogaloo days up to today's turf dancers and B Boys, Oakland's urban dance crews have long been a source of inspiration for their originality and cutting edge moves.  Youth Uprising's Michael Jackson Tribute Dance Battle gave some of The Town's current underground dance stars a chance to shine.  If you're a fan of urban dance you can catch a bit of everything in their moves as the kids move from turfin to poppiin, tuttin to break dancing and beyond. If you're new to the style just sit back and check out some moves that would have made the King of Pop would have been proud.
