It's 10:30 PM, and the Bay Bridge is reportedly closed indefinitely, whatever that means. Tomorrow morning, everyone in the East Bay who usually rides over the bridge will head to a BART station, squeeze onto a train, and cross the water underground. It is going to be crowded, stifling, and slow--all reasons I wish I could just stay home.

There are 2,000 twitter posts per minute on the Bay Bridge topic right now (10:32 PM), and I am just going to share some of them with you, since this is how some of us crowd source our news (newest first):

@doctoratlantis I know what happened to the Bay Bridge. http://bit.ly/3QLiC1

@neonumbra Mi amigo @jadedfox was a few minutes off the bay bridge when the cable snapped.

@iamxande Bay Bridge will be close, both ways, indefinitely. It doesn't surprise me the pieces made overnight snapped. Good thing no one got hurt.

@scotttesterman Ha! my friends all feel the same way. RT @katielive105 Bay bridge ... Fuck you. That's all I have to say.

@myredtie Bay bridge closed. It took me 5 hrs and 15 minutes to get home from work - 28 miles.

@PrometheusInst Does the collapse of the SF Bay Bridge do anything but prove the fact that DOT always delivers inferior service? Public option FTL #liberty

@larfo,  did not expect a photo of my hand to be viewed by 15,000+ people tonight... wow. i was just trying to block the sun

@larfo Wtf is happening to the Bay Bridge? Looks like part of it fell off and hit some cars. Blocking 2 lanes wowow
