Oakland Photography (& Video) Contest is Now Open

Oakland Convention & Visitors Bureau Logo

Sponsored by the Oakland Convention and Visitors Bureau, this annual contest gives amateur and pro photographers the chance to celebrate the diverse beauty of our great city. If you have an image that showcases Oakland as a premiere destination, go ahead and tag it OCVBPhoto2010 in your flickr and send an email to destinationoakland@yahoo.com to confirm receipt. (Only properly tagged photos will be judged and added to the group.)

If you entered in past years, then you probably already know that the winners images are framed and featured at the Marriot/Convention Center downtown. Rules, entry proceedures, and payment/use have changed a little this year, so be sure to read the rules carefully.

The Flickr group also mentions a video component over at YouTube. The rules haven't been added to that website yet, but the YouTube group asks for "the best videos promoting where to Eat, Play and Stay in Oakland, California."

For photographers, $3,000 in total prizes - including a $1,000 Grand Prize are up for grabs. The contest closes June 1, 2010.
