Prescott Circus Theatre will be presenting HIGHER GROUND, a stilt dance performance featuring over 50 youth
stilt dancers, each coached in the spirit, history, and techniques of

The stilt dancers are all students of Prescott Circus Theatre and
its satellite programs from
6 Oakland Elementary Schools: Prescott,
Garfield, Parker, Piedmont Avenue, Manzanita, and Laurel.

The Prescott
Circus Theatre is an exciting and innovative after school program for
Oakland youth.
Students receive free training and performing
opportunities. The program was founded in 1984 by
Prescott teacher Aileen Moffitt. The goals of PCT are to provide a
culturally conscious educational program promoting
leadership,
performing arts education, skill training, academic progress, and life
experience opportunities for youngsters in
a context that allows them to fully explore their talents and enriches
self-esteem
The program also serves the community by providing
professional-level entertainment by children of color for
audiences
of all ages while representing Oakland youth in a proud and positive
manner.
