Lack of economic opportunity, pollution, inadequate schools, substandard housing, limited access to healthcare and healthy foods have led to extreme health disparities within the African American community. Tonight the African People's Education and Defense Fund is sponsoring a presentation and community conversation focusing on these issues.

Dr. Muntu Davis, Health Officer from the Alameda County Health Department, will present information from a report called "Life and Death From Unnatural Causes: Health and Social Inequity in Alameda County".

Also in attendance will be members of the health field and community who will speak about how our separate and unequal societies can be transformed.
