Ise Lyfe divorces Oakland and corny neverbeens?

Ise Lyfe

Ise Lyfe

This the break up the break UP
I gotta go to grow but maybe later we could make up make UP
And be better even
I mean even better
I mean since my first dreams we been together
On this Oakland shit
They say lyfes a bitch
Nah shes a perfect woman
Just gotta learn to ride her curves when she throw em on ya
So I’m ride em outta this town they call the town cause my backs againt the glass ceiling and im staring down like wow
what I do now
Funny how looking down I see these clowns I use to rock with
They never did big shit just stuck around them selves
9 years later and they wack as hell
What they call shows is really them taking turns getting on stage and rapping to them selves

Meanwhile I’m the prince of this shit easy to tell impossible to kill
whether any1 admits it since power movement no single cat had a greater influence
Even my biggest hater has to say I inspired them to spit it

Whether you earthy or hyphy
None of these fo0ls is like me
Laughable the thought of out writing me
You see
I fooled around and turned 27
When I got my first deal a new kid name Kanye was mixtape sellin’
Then it was lupe’ while I was waitin on my soul train
Never came my way so I’m patient like my mama say stomachin these wussanames
Now it’s a new phase and they screamin Drake
Which is cool, but I be got damn if I aint the illest dude that’s how any emcee feel
Duuude that’s my Cali talk
But I’m writing this in brooklyn
Last night was virginia beach me and a model walk
back to my hotel and I had a thought
I gotta dump Oakland but you
Forever in my heart
Like Coranary arteries
Like see right there
Who woulda thought to say that
Me
Ise2the next one, but trust Oakland I love ya
My E14, 880 BABY, Paramount love
You my first kiss
I’ll be back for you but I gotta do this
As I exit 98th ave but I aint headed to brookfield
I’m to the airport with my bag and all this money I kill
What a time we had
Crushing these fools
You’ll always smell me in the wind when it moves
Plus I left elephant shoes
None of these fools
will fill
So when I return I’ll lace up and we’ll
Remind them of real
Until then this my break up letter sealed

…………

So you can have the air lounge lukas and all the other steps that lead up to the door before you soar
You never made it pass the Black Box
I hope you forget me not
And I heard about the trash talk, yappin this and that
But you only talk behind my back

It just reminds ME

that, ahem... you’re behind me

Can you Do Dat
Wake em up
All the sleepy elephants gassed off diesel
I got sixth sense: Oh my God I see wack people

I taught a taw a putty tat
Bunch of pusswah’s
Throwing rocks from the shadows at the big dawg
And puzzled women hoop and haw
If I was Too Short, I’d say shut up bitch
But I’m conscious Ise Lyfe, so I say...

... shut up bitch

I count money while you count the problems you have
Its sad
Cause we shoulda been together forever
This songs a metaphor about 3 or more things
Having the incite to move on to the next thing instead of getting comfortable
Where you’re King
And calling a lame when their lame is key
I realize the player will never relate to the hater and
Vice versa cause they’re oppossite beings

Forget the haves and have nots
Its about the doer and non doers
Who clash with each other as the doer maneuvers
it fuels the shooter and the non deserving target
So I stay smarter than these rhymes I got

Cause a hater starts to plot when you remind them of what they not

And none of you fools is me

Gaining the planet and the suns solar
My hands full like the man standing behind Janet on the poster
I know they cant stand it

About Ise Lyfe

Recently appointed Commissioner of Arts and Cultural Affairs in his hometown of Oakland, CA, Ise Lyfe is one of the nation’s premier Spoken Word Artist and Emcee’s. His 2006 debut album, ”spreadtheWord” allowed him to mettle with a national audience, and the release of his second LP, “Prince Cometh” received rave reviews from critics and fans alike. Unaffected by the sophomore jinx theory, it’s safe to say the response across the board was nearly 100% positive… Ise first gained national recognition competing in national poetry slam competitions in his late teens. In 2001 he won the National Poetry Slam Competition, skyrocketing his popularity amongst the ever growing Spoken Word/Hip-Hop Theatre audience. He has been featured on Russell Simmons' Def Poetry Jam on HBO. He has also shared the stage with Gil Scott-Heron, Dave Chappelle, Lauryn Hill, Talib Kweli, Dead Prez, E-40, Harry Belafonte, Mos Def, Malcolm Jamaal Werner, KRS-One, Martin Luther, Saul Williams, Ben Harper, Erykah Badu, Zion I, and The Coup to name a few. However, Ise Lyfe is simply different than anyone else in his genre or league of peers. Period. Just in his twenties with nearly ten years of national and international stage performing and recording experience, he transcends the common narrative on and off stage. An award winning poet, emcee, performer, and educator, this young man is sure to be the impact we all speak of wanting, but rarely see realized..
