If you live in North Oakland, you probably miss the wi-fi and the spacious tables at Spuds, which closed more than a year ago.
Now it turns out that Jennifer Millar of the Sweet Adeline Bakeshop right down the block, Tom Schnetz of Uptown's Flora and Temescal's Dona Thomas are the team that have taken over the formerly known as Spud's space.
What are they cooking up? A pizza and frozen custard shop called Addie's Pizza Pie at 3290 Adeline St. (between Harmon Street and Alcatraz Avenue) in Berkeley.
Sounds good, huh?
Well, they announced they were planning to open in March or April; it's July and those of us hoping for some frozen custard and New York-style pie hope we'll get a chance by August to stop pressing our noses to the glass and go inside to order a scoop or a slice
Anyone hear anything?
Where do you go to eat out? Pizza and casual dining?
