Position Summary
 
Green For All is seeking an experienced program manager to lead our Communities
of Practice program<http://www.greenforall.org/what-we-do/building-a-movement/community-of-practice/community-of-practice>.
Our Communities of Practice connect on-the-ground practitioners to one
another to share ideas, foster innovation, and drive program results across
the country. The program combines local experience with national expertise
to shape and advance cutting-edge practices for growing an inclusive green
economy.
 
The Communities of Practice (CoP) Program Manager is responsible for the
maintaining and growing our current CoPs, which are focused on
energy-efficiency building retrofits and on “green pathways out of poverty”
job training and workforce development. The CoP Program Manager will also be
responsible for organizing new CoPs around Green For All’s core areas of
work.
 
The Communities of Practice Program Manager will work in close coordination
with the Green For All’s State and Local Initiatives

    while reporting to the Director of Special Projects. This position is based
    out of our Oakland office.
     
    Primary Responsibilities
     
    - Lead the implementation of the Communities of Practice program,
    including: producing best practice briefs, providing technical assistance to
    members, coordinating large national learning calls, putting out monthly
    electronic newsletters, and organizing in-person convenings of practitioners
    2-5 times a year.
    - Serve as a primary liaison between Green For All and leaders in the
    field, proactively recruiting innovative practitioners to the Communities of
    Practice program and maintaining relationships with current members.
    - Maintain a current analysis of the field as it relates to our
    Communities of Practice, and support Green For All in defining and promoting
    best practices.
    - Help design a program strategy that builds the capacity of local
    leaders and advances cutting-edge practices in building an inclusive green
    economy.
    - Mobilize support as needed from members of the Communities of Practice
    on federal, state and local advocacy needs.
    - Work with development staff, maintain relations with donors, contribute
    to proposals, and support fundraising efforts as needed.
    - Update and maintain the Communities of Practice pages on the Green For
    All website; facilitating online communication and collaboration among
    members of the CoPs.
    - Other duties as needed.
     
     
    Experience & Qualifications Requirements
     
    - Strong commitment to G4A’s mission and organizational objectives.
    - BA degree plus at least 5 years experience managing programs or
    projects.
    - Substantial familiarity with green economy issues, including energy
    efficiency strategies, clean energy financing, workforce development,
    high-road standards.
    - Strong leadership and analytical skills; excellent interpersonal and
    communication (verbal and written) skills.
    - Skilled at working effectively with a diversity of people and
    organizations.
    - Demonstrated ability and willingness to work independently as well as
    on a team.
    - Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple project
    deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
