About the position:
Build It Green’s Director of Marketing and Communications is a new position and a new department at Build It Green.
This department is responsible for developing and executing a coordinated and integrated marketing and communication plan for the entire organization. This includes developing messaging and communication channels for our stakeholders; for Build It Green as an organization; for the GreenPoint Rated program at Build It Green, as well as for our professional trainings that are offered throughout the year and throughout the state of California. A special project for this position will be developing a marketing and communications plan for consumers - in partnership with StopWaste.org - who are the targeted audience for statewide energy retrofit programs that will be geared to single family and multi-family owners.
The Director of Marketing and Communications is a key member of the senior management team at Build It Green and as such participates in setting key strategies and decisions for the organization.
This position reports to the Executive Director.
Qualifications:
• Baccalaureate Degree required. Master’s degree in marketing and communication preferred
• 7+ years in the marketing and communication field, with progressively higher levels of responsibility similar to those described for this position.
• 5 + years in managing a department and/or team
• Experience in developing and managing departmental work plans and budgets
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent writing skills
• Experience in social media imperative
• Experience in managing and supporting an organizational website imperative
• Consumer education and branding experience helpful
Compensation:
Salary will be based on qualifications and experience. Build It Green offers a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental and vision insurance; 403(b) retirement plan with partial employer matching; paid holidays and paid annual leave.
