INOAK is hosting their first meet-up this week.

Innovation Oakland - INOAK - is hosting it's first ever meet and greet this Thursday, July 15. Enjoy Levende East’s new American cuisine over conversation aboutimproving and facilitating the development of Oakland--and bringing tech and digital media companies together.

The mixer will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and will feature three main speakers from local businesses.

INOAK is a new organization that hopes to use collaboration to improve Oakland businesses. By bringing together local executives in new media and technology, ideas will be shared that will help bring innovative practices and ideas to the Oakland community.

INOAK organizers say they hope to see many of Oakland’s pinnacle organizations, old and new, at Thursday's party, according to the group's Facebook page. Many facets of Oakland are represented in INOAK - from new media to neighborhood associations, a community of entrepreneurs have organized themselves into a group that will meet quarterly to discuss new ideas and technology that will help the city.

North Social, a Facebook application company; the city of Oakland; the Swig Company, a private investment company; and Oakland Local are among the groups that will be represented at the July mixer this Thursday.
