Is everyone obsessed with the Mehserle verdict, or is it just me?  Yesterday, in downtown Oakland, the number of people taking photos or making art around issues of justice for Oscar Grant and the Mehserle trial verdict seemed to outnumber passers by.  What this means is that many artists are doing political work, out on the streets, around the verdict and issues of protest, race, racism, and safety--and many politicios are making, yes, art.  Here's a cross-section of some recent images from around town related to the Menserle trail--if you have others you'd like to add, post links below, or add them to flickr with the tags "oscar grant" and "oakland."
