Third Annual Bikes 4 Life Bike Ride Today

Third Annual Bikes 4 Life Bike Ride Today

It's time to break out the bikes-your scrapers, your fixies, your mountain, road and playa bikes - and head over to Lake Merritt for the Third Annual Bikes 4 Life Peace Ride.

Riders from all over the Bay Area will be making a pedal powered not so silent statement against youth violence as they roll from the Lake over to the Bikes 4 Life Bike shop on Seventh Street for an afternoon "bike-in" movie night screening of "The Warriors."

Last year's ride drew over 300 people and ride organizer Tony Coleman says he expects almost double that this year.

This year the ride starts at 7:30 and riders are encouraged to light up their bikes with the funkiest, lights, neons and reflectors possible. For more information check out the Bikes 4 Life website

What a fantastic idea! I saw the riders around the Lake yesterday and everyone seemed so happy and positive! I'm getting ready for next years ride.
