Aug 22: Oakland and the Roots of the Food Justice Movement Brunch Fundraiser

Support food justice in Oakland! Join Oakland Food Justice Supporters at Oakland Food Connection's first brunch fundraiser of the year, Sunday, August 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Swan's Marketplace Co-Housing.

Proceeds benefit Oakland Food Connection's "Healthy Food for All" campaign. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at Brown Paper tickets at Oakland and the Roots of the Food Justice Movement.

Special guest chefs will prepare appetizers, entres and dessert for 50 food justice supporters, from organic produce grown in OFC's school gardens, and at J&P Organics and Hidden Star Orchards.

Brahm Ahmadi, CEO of People's Community Market, Nikki Henderson, executive director of People's Grocery and Jason Harvey, founder and executive director of Oakland Food Connection will lead a discussion on food justice in Oakland.

Austin Willacy will perform at noon.
