Prescott Joseph Center for Community Enhancement continues to present The Lower Bottom Playaz in  "Mama at Twilight: Death by Love" by playwright Ayodele Nzinga at The Sister Thea Bowman Memorial Theater.Don't miss this last weekend of a terrific play by an Oakland talent.

"Mama at Twilight: Death by Love" is a beautifully written interrogation of family. It pokes into closets and brings seldom-discussed issues to the table. The drama is based in reality and powerfully acted by a stellar cast. The play is a love story dressed as a "who done it."

The Sister Thea Bowman Memorial Theater is located at 920 Peralta St. in the rear yard of The Prescott Joseph Center For Community Enhancement. The Jefferson’s are a family struggling to be family. They are people you might know - maybe even the folks next-door - just ordinary folks bound by love and hampered by reality. They seem headed for an implosion and then the AIDS virus derails them. This play about family and the effort it takes to be family poses the question: Is love enough?
