Over 100 people marched from Seminary and Bancroft to Fruitvale BART Station in response to the murder of Derrick Jones by Oakland Police. The Black Hour shared their photos with OL.

Jones, 37, was  shot by two Oakland Police officers Monday evening after authorities responded to a domestic dispute call at the Kwik Cuts barbershop he owned on Bancroft Avenue in East Oakland. For Jones, that call ended in death.

About Black Hour

The Black Hour Internet Radio Show is an internet radio show based at Laney College in Oakland, CA. The show's original description on 9th Floor Radio states, "The Black Hour sheds light on the voices of Laney's Black students, taking them from the abyss of silence to the glow of empowerment." The two-hour show airs every fourth Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. (PST) on 9th Floor Radio. HISTORY The Black Hour originally was a project of the Laney Black Student Union (Laney BSU). Members wanted an opportunity to voice their opinions on things that mattered to them.

Only 100 people.... Susan you need to get the word out to the community. Sounds like .... maybe...... most people don't care. Sounds like OPD did their job as reguired. Shot to kill when you suspect your life or the lives of the community to be in jepordy.

The community has spoken! If we only had a video of this shoting.

One less parolee to send back to prison. You do know their rate of return is 70%. It was only a matter of time. Not any more for him.
