About Nwamaka Agbo

As a first-generation Nigerian, Nwamaka Agbo grew-up in San Luis Obispo, California, where she first became aware of the racial and economic inequalities within our society. Some of her first efforts in fighting for social justice happened while she was a student at the University of California, Davis. While working to complete a double-major in Sociology and African American/ African Studies, Nwamaka quicky moved into leadership roles with some of the on-campus organizations working to address issues affecting Africans and African Americans within the United States and throughout the Diaspora. While organizing and studying as a student, Nwamaka became aware of the significant role and leadership of young adults in fighting agaisnt civil rights and human rights abuses in the struggle for equality and justice.

I wrote an application with/for a neighbor that didn't make it the first year, then the second try we got one!  They painted her home's exterior, rebuilt her deteriorating back porch, fixed leaky pipes in the bathroom and totally redid her kitchen. It was a great help to a woman in her 70's on a VERY fixed income. Thanks RT!

Anyone who wants to help out financially or labor-ally - I can testify to the improvements they made in her life - and she encouraged her friends to apply!
