We're all about local, so it's a special pleasure to welcome Farley's, a super-local place to get coffee, food and hang out with friends, as a new Oakland Local advertiser.
Did you know that the first Farley's, the one in San Fran, was opened 22 years ago by Chris Hillyard's dad? And that when Chris and his wife moved to Oakland 4 years ago, his first thought was that he wanted to find a good spot for a local coffee place?
"We knew there was a need and opportunity for a community gathering space like Farley's in SF," says Chris. "After searching numerous Oakland neighborhoods, we felt Uptown would be an ideal location since it provides a nice mix housing and office workers. "
In Oakland, Chris and his family live near Lake Merritt and they're always out and about, going to the park, and hitting the farmers' market. Not surprisingly, this is a man who is all about shopping locally.
" I know first-hand that when you shop locally, you help create and maintain jobs for local residents, " Chris explains. "Further, you are also helping sustain local, independent businesses that help make Oakland a diverse and interesting place to live."
Oakland Local is delighted to welcomer Farley's--and Chris--as an advertiser and we remind you that if you want to support our advertisers, you will swing by and have a perfectly brewed coffee or another yummy drink at Farley's--and say you saw them on OL.
