BART is celebrating Earth Day and our every day blue skies in two ways.
On Thursday, April 21 - in honor of Earth Day - join BART at its first ever Blue Sky Festival.
The event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Justin Herman Plaza (between Embarcadero BART station and the Ferry Building), will feature dozens of earth-friendly exhibitors with information and organic food giveaways.
BART invites participants to pick up a free passport and collect stamps from six festival exhibits. The first 5,000 people to return their completed passport will get a free $6 BART ticket. Every completed passport will be entered to win one of two Giant Expressway 2 folding bikes. Folding bikes are the only bikes allowed on every BART train.
Submit your own story to win $500 in BART tickets
BART invites you to share your own story about what you do to live more sustainably. Submit your story online, read others and vote for your favorite. Entries are accepted until May 9.
The top 10 stories as voted by visitors to the Blue Sky site will each receive $100 in BART tickets, with a grand prize winner selected by guest judges and awarded $500 in BART tickets. Other entries will be selected at random to win $10 to $75 BART tickets.
