How important is it for Oakland residents to buy from local businesses?

According to Oakland Local readers, it's very important.

In an April 2011 survey released today, Oakland Local readers, 96 percent of our survey respondents, told OL that shopping locally was either very (70 percent) or somewhat (26 percent) important. OL's new audience survey has all sorts of useful information about our audience, including how many respondents visit OL on Facebook (73 percent) and how many rely on Twitter to track stories (34 percent).

Did you realize that greatest number of OL's 70,000 monthly readers, who live all over the city, are under 35? And that 22 percent of them define as entrepreneurs? For more information on our extremely engaged audience, check out OL's new audience survey - the data is fascinating!

And if you're a local business person who wants to connect with our audience, get in touch as well. We're partnering with local businesses and nonprofits to help them market their services through ads, sponsorships, give-aways and promotions.
