We're huge fans of the handmade pottery crafted by Whitney Smith right here in Oakland. Smith's gorgeous pieces make the rounds of craft shows and fairs around the country - and on Etsy - but they're produced right here in our Town.

This weekend, Smith is holding an open studio where she will focus on selling her much more affordable seconds.

"This is mostly a spring cleaning sale, a time to find homes for all of the work I've been making this year that have some minor flaws and are significantly marked down," Smith said. "There will be some beautiful bargains! I will also have some fresh work, including a display of my mini willow vases, perfect for delicate spring flower."

For details on the sale, join Smith's Facebook page.
