Manifesto Bikes celebration May 15
On May 15, Manifesto Bicycles celebrates the third anniversary of Bike Church -
a Sunday morning event the bike shop has hosted since opening in 2008.
Bike Church
is a gathering of cyclists and neighbors that promotes community and bicycle
riding. The event has grown to include live
music by local bands and gourmet street food.
The celebration will run from 1 to 5 p.m. this Sunday, May
15, and will feature music by Oakland-based bands Winfred
E. Eye, Glaciers and Pre Legendary and the Dreamers. The event will also
feature on-site screen-printing and a limited edition poster release by Oakland’s
Team Print Shop. All proceeds from the screen-printing to benefit the Ella
Baker Center’s Soul of the City Campaign. Refreshments by Fist of Flour Pizza Company
and Trumer Pils.
Team Print Shop is an Oakland-based screen-printing company that specializes in high quality, custom design and quick turnarounds.
The Ella Baker Center’s Soul of the City Campaign brings residents together to address their deepest concerns and build for their highest hopes through learning, service and leadership.
Bay Area native, James Whitehead, established Fist of Flour Pizza Company in 2010. The company makes handcrafted
pies on a pizza oven that James built and then mounted to a trailer.
