The Alameda County Alcohol Policy Network (APN) will hold four workshops in June for Oakland residents who want to learn how both the City of Oakland and State of California enforce alcohol regulations and ways in which they can use the enforcement process to their benefit, perhaps in relation to a neighborhood liquor store or bar they are concerned about.

This upcoming Wednesday, June 2, organizers will hold their second planning meeting for a new 50-acre waterfront park slated to be built in Oakland at the foot of the eastern span of the Bay Bridge.
At the workshop design concepts for the Bay Bridge Gateway Park will be presented for the public to comment on in small group discussions.
EXCEL High School's graduating seniors will present their culminating year-long research and public service projects this Friday, May 21.
The presentations will occur in the afternoon at the school's West Oakland campus and are open to both the public and school community.

Oakland's 5th Annual Walk Against Poverty is coming up fast. The walk, and a following community fair, will take place at Lake Merritt this Saturday, May 22.
It is sponsored by the Oakland Community Action Partnership (OCAP) along with the United Way of the East Bay.
