MMPlace Programs Director, Quinton Sankofa, presents Bottles Liquor owner, Mo, with an award for selling 2,500 lbs of produce.

2010 was a very important year for Mandela MarketPlace and its partner, Mandela Foods. Our successes were abundant. Mandela Foods celebrated their one-year anniversary with a Summer Block Party that included special celebrity guest Rosario Dawson. We hosted U.S. Rep Barbara Lee and EPA Administrator, Lisa Jackson on their Environmental Justice Tour.

The city of Oakland helped us get halfway to our goal, now we need you to bring it home. Help us meet our goal of raising $25,000 to match the city's funds!

Our warehouse needs a new home.
The good news is we found one, the only problem is, in order to move in we have to do some major renovations.

Mandela MarketPlace Sponsors Screening of Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days on Dec 12

Mandela MarketPlace is joining hands with the associate producer of Simply Raw, Michael Bedar, to bring a screening of the movie to West Oakland-a community that has a diabetes rate that is three times higher than the Alameda County diabetes rate.
