BART Blue Sky Festival

BART is celebrating Earth Day and our every day blue skies in two ways.

On Thursday, April 21 - in honor of Earth Day - join BART at its first ever Blue Sky Festival.

The event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Justin Herman Plaza (between Embarcadero BART station and the Ferry Building), will feature dozens of earth-friendly exhibitors with information and organic food giveaways.

The city of Oakland will begin charging for bike parking, issuing tickets, fines and booting bicycles if deemed necessary.

Beginning today, Friday, April 1, the city of Oakland will start holding bicycle operators to parking rules and regulations similar to those of motor vehicle operators.

Attending City Council meetings is a great way to learn about and become more involved with your city. But if you've never attending one before, what can you expect?

In Oakland, the Council meets on the first, third and fifth Tuesdays of every month. Meetings take place on the third floor of City Hall - at 1 Frank Ogawa Plaza - and are open to the public.
