City Council hearing Tuesday on La Raza Market
On Dec. 1, the 27Y and 27X Neighborhood Crime Prevention Councils (NCPC) joined efforts at a Planning Commission meeting to stop La Raza Market, 5001 Bancroft Ave., from selling alcohol.
Though the business operators did not appeal the decision, the property owners did.
Award winning artist James Gayles featured in two exhibits

Known around the country for his vibrant watercolors and sharp graphic design and art direction, James Gayles has spent most of his artistic career creating a body of work that bridges cultures and disciplines. As a result the Emmy award winning artist has become one of the most well known community artists in Oakland.
